Litiholo is a division of Liti Holographics, where we have a passion for making holograms and sharing that experience with people everywhere. From our roots at the MIT Media Lab to our vision for the future of holograms, we create amazing hologram technologies that reach real people. But we are most proud of helping others create their own holograms, and as a result helping to create the next generation of hologram engineers, artists and entrepreneurs.

Holographic Keypad with FLOATING NUMBERS!
Просмотров 283Месяц назад
This is a concept that originally we bounced around and played with during the start of Covid. Remember trying NOT TO TOUCH ANYTHING?! But then having to enter your PIN for every credit card transaction, essentially "touching" EVERYONE ELSE who came before you! We thought holographic buttons floating out in front of the pinpad would give the proper visual cues to indicate where you should press...
Hologram of Ticking Watch - This Shouldn't Work!
Просмотров 2,5 тыс.Месяц назад
First, we made a nice reflection hologram of a watch. We pulled out the pin to stop the ticking motion, and to make sure everything was stable. The hologram was nice and bright (and the self-developing LitiHolo Hologram Film allowed us view the hologram immediately after exposure). Great highlights off the metal, and notice the second, minute, and hour hands all with nice shadows and the reflec...
Monday - Make a Hologram - Dice, Parallax and Security Features
Просмотров 4292 месяца назад
As you move the hologram around, you can see the different sides of the dice due to the parallax, or "look-around," capabilities of holograms. These features are sometimes used as overt security verification methods, or authentication, referred to as Optically Variable Devices. We call them holograms! Even though the hologram shows depth and realistic "look-around" like a real object, it's all ...

Showing off just a little of the inner workings of the 3D Hologram Printer. After placing the film plate into the carriage, the system homes, then positions the plate under the optical printing arm, and begins optically exposing each hogel location to the laser light carrying the perspective images for that part of the hologram. (This demo video has the lights on and the hood removed, to better...

This is one of the best videos on holography! And you can do most of these hologram experiments at home now with a Hologram Kit: www.litiholo.com From 1972 and dug up from the Internet Archive: archive.org/details/IntroductionToHolography
This hologram is really big! And you can make one too.

This hologram was too impressive to keep to ourselves! We were testing our new 6"x8" hologram film and the just-launched 6"x8" Hologram Upgrade Kit before we ship out to the first customers. Even though is was just a test, it is really impressive! And this was just using our Hologram Kit and the new size upgrade, so anyone could be making this. The hologram took about 15 minutes to expose. We p...
Skeleton hologram activated by doorbell!
Просмотров 2,2 тыс.4 года назад
Welcome to Holo-ween! Here's a fun hologram project that we've been meaning to do for a long time for Halloween, and it actually turned out to be much easier than we expected. This is a 4"x5" hologram of a skeleton in a coffin. But the best part is that everything is activated by a standard doorbell switch, which not only activates the laser illumination, but it also has a great thunder sound e...
What happens when you cut a hologram in half?
Просмотров 22 тыс.4 года назад
Holograms have some very interesting properties that make them different from 2-dimensional images. One of these properties that we periodically get asked about is what happens if a hologram is cut in half, or even shattered into a million pieces? One aspect of this question is based on the fact that every part of the hologram contains information about the whole scene, but there's also an elem...

DIY Color Hologram Kit on Kickstarter
The Albert V. Baez mentioned in the opening credits is the father of the singers Joan Baez and Mimi Farina.
I had trouble understanding why it is able to record parts of the object that aren't directly illuminated by the object beam. The reason it is able to do this is because it captures the entire light field. There is some diffusion of the object beam once it meets the object, and some of the light will bounce around the entire area, with each contact of any side of the object or objects causing further phase change, which is how it obtains and records the spatial information of those angles. Obviously getting to the far end of the sides of the object will have reflected a lot of times, unavoidably losing some of the intensity each time. This is why during playback the image tends to get darker the further to the side the viewer is looking at the hologram from. All of the light eventually ends up at the holographic medium where the reference beam is shining and forms the interference pattern. I say eventually. It's light. For all practical reference of speed it's instantaneous.
Can you say Sept. 11?
the newest videos made me confuse, and the old video made it clear
I'm curious if only a small slit is left would it still have all 3 dice
That's a very nice hologram!
My dad had an old hologram making kit from Edmund Scientific back in the 80s. Big helium neon laser, some film (probably expired by the time I found it), and a book on how to build a table. We never got around to doing it. Making a hologram is still on my bucket list. So rad.
Our hologram kits and self-developing film will make it a lot easier!
Interesting. I should try this!
Oh... So THAT'S how you made it look like an H1-H2 copy. LOL Just use a reverse reading subject, and playback the backside of the holo. Now, I get it! Thanks for sharing that. :)
I'm guessing this was an H1-H2 copy, with the virtual image focusing well in front of the plane of the film? Very cool. :)
Actually, just a single plate but using the phase-conjugate image for the floating image in front of the hologram. See the LitiHolo blog for all the details.
@@LitiHolo That's a neat trick. I also saw the other video in which you showed how this was done, right after I saw this one. LOL ;)
If the plate had a black opaque border, made with tape or by a permanent marker, or somehow else, then I think the green parasitic reflections could be reduced.
Nice
I see your 5mW is actually a pretty good laser. Was it a special power unit or something? Or just batteries?
"911 what is your-" "My watch didn't watching"
Whose here because of eotech
Algorithme getting me some good material video's 😊
And how long
8 min exposure for these.
That is amazingly good quality exposure. Very nice. Which laser did you use? The 20 mW? or 5 mW? Thanks for the video. :)
The standard 5mW laser from the LitiHolo Hologram Kit. Came out nice!
@@LitiHolo Ah, ok. Very cool! :)
amazing can you make portret pic with thet?
Humans, and anything pulsing and moving can only be captured over nanosecond pulses, rather than with such CW lasers.
12:39 insane
6:40 how
That's a gorgeous hologram. To avoid the light wave banding near the edge, you might want to place a black straight edge, just thick enough to block the reference beam entering the edge of the plate. Very glad to see you're back in action, too. Thanks for the video.
What about painting it with a thick coating of permanent marker?
@@fatitankeris6327 I've attempted that, but the ink wouldn't distribute evenly, and light still go tin. Now I think about it, I perhaps, should've tried the paint pen I had, at the time.
I've really wanted to get into holography for a while now so I'm absolutely hyped you guys are back.
Nice and glad your back
Can you make a parallel view stereoscopic video showing this to demonstrate the effect?
This video video was so awesome and easy to understand. Thank you!
If you figured it out your genious
Still useful, I used these concepts on my current project
Hi! Would be great if you did one showing the actual cutting... I.e., showing the full image, then cut it and show the same in two, then in four, etc. It's surprisingly hard to find this online, though this is kind of a famous thing. Perhaps you could make a follow up video?
Why old videos sre are super easy to understand ????
Back then, Education was everything. Today we have youtubers and streamers
They care about teaching not about clicks
Pribram-Bohm brought me here.
WHAT THE FUCK THIS IS SO COOL!!!
You need to break it or cut it up and show how each piece shows the whole image.
Rhystic Studies sent me here - I've always wanted to know more about holography and his video "The Shimmer" used this as an early reference.
Olá, pois bem, tem como usar uma foto que já contenha a holografia, para um filme holográfico?
Are your holograms all red? Or does it come in color (blue and green) for the printer?
Reality is a hologram. A hologram within a hologram
You should try making an H2 reflection with that hologram. :)
I have several cool holograms I've shot with the kit. I really need to go ahead and upload them. Hope y'all have recovered from the water heater flood incident, and are back in action. :)
I need to make holo like yu gi oh cards, the name of that's is ghost rare, you know how to do that?
Where I can buy that
I just want to make some POGs with my own art.. Not expectes it's so hard..
@LitiHolo >>> 👍👍
@LitiHolo >>> I remember FILM. And PROJECTORS. 😊
Cool...👍
Good!~ I have liked and subscribed to your channel
Thats pretty nifty there. When can i order a kit ? Mi missed the order window
i am finding it hard to understand the part where it is said that a piece contains the whole... that one piece contains the view from that one point of reference is the more accurate statement correct? the dice hologram example is certainly a better example but i will keep looking for an even more pronounced example. Thank you for you historic and modern examples.
This is amazing, how is it not more popular???
The simplification at the end was wonderful, ty.
